The new era of Knox Rugby has begun

Last Saturday we descended upon Koola Oval in Killara for the first matches at our new venue. First Grade did a great job setting up, preparing the oval for the large crowd that turned up to watch Knox take on Beecroft.

We had a leisurely start to the day – the first kick-off was at midday, with fourth grade taking the field. Admittedly we didn’t have the best start with the lower grades, but third grade came through with our first win at the ground, followed by second and then first grade to cap off an outstanding day. We’ve had our best season start of the last few years but there’s obviously a lot of hard work still to do.

Thank you to all those who turned out to watch us at Koola and we hope to continue to build our crowds and support. We want to make Koola the best home for Knox it could possibly be, so if any of you have ideas for improving what we do at the ground or how we set up, I’d love to hear them. Please come up to me on the sideline and have a chat.

Marilyn and the girls in the canteen did a fantastic job, and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Kristen, as it was her first Saturday with the club. Kristen was also selling delicious chocolate cookies – I can highly recommend that everyone tries them!

We have a weekend off this week and will be back at Koola on the 1st of May, when we take on Drummoyne a.k.a. the Dirty Reds. It will be a huge day for us, as they are club championship contenders, so we’ll need all the support we can get.
