Round 5’s Lust Liquor Player of The Round goes deservedly to Burke Cup co-captain James Winterton.
James has been at the literal and figurative centre of the early season rally in 2nd Grade, helping to pull together the team on and off the field as they have started to notch a couple of wins and being to eye a rise up the ladder.
Last Saturday against Blue Mountains at Lofberg he played the full game for 2nds, making some of his signature incisive, ranging runs in the wide channels and playing his part in a forward pack that put the big Blue Mountains set-piece under pressure.
With another win in the bag for 2nd Grade, Winterton came off the bench for a star turn in the first Kentwell Cup win of the season, capped off with his selling a preposterous dummy for the game sealing try.
